We all have urges, aberrant hungers that we spend our days calculating whether it is to our advantage to indulge or suppress them. The righteous fury that moves one desperate victim to take revenge on the person who wronged them. The fathomless greed for recognition that drives another to seek ever higher achievement. Most societies and cultures caution us to rein in these impulses, to achieve enlightenment through their denial.

But what if we were to let them go? What monsters would be born?

CONTENT WARNING: This game's info pages, premise, plot, and events may involve or make reference to rape, dubious and coerced consent, torture, blood and gore, body horror, disfiguration, murder, cult behavior, medieval punishments, drugs effects, and animalistic sexual behaviors. RUBILYKSKOYE is a dark, horror-themed smut game. Characters arrive in a wooded void-space, naked and without any belongings. They will soon discover glowing runes on their bodies like tattoos, which mark them as bearing a curse that transforms them into monsters if they do not have regular sexual intercourse. The transformation into a beast is painful, and when it is complete, they lose their sense of self, becoming driven only by an appetite for sex and/or violence. In the nearby township from which the game takes its name, characters will discover a cult-like society of similarly cursed individuals with unfamiliar customs centered around the careful indulgence of these urges.

The game will alternate between horror-based and sex-based events. Horror events will draw on various tropes and elements like body horror, gore, violence, psychological horror, loss of autonomy, mistrust of senses, and lovecraftian madness. Smut events will draw primarily on kink tropes driven by the cult-like behavior of the local population.

Opt-outs will vary by event. While players can opt-out of the smut parts of the game, it will intensify the horror aspects of the game for their character, and opting out of the horror parts of the game will generally require more involvement in the smut components.

Welcome to the Rubilykskoye interest check! We are a panfandom, plot-heavy horror-smut game set in a void world populated solely by a vaguely Eastern European castle village! How and why your characters arrived will be answered as characters interact with the town's various NPCs, including the mysterious Duchess living in the castle, and as players proactively engage with events.

Players can expect events to alternate between the erotic and grotesque, though many will combine the two. The game will heavily feature eldritch body horror, religious cult behavior, and animalistic behaviors and urges.

The nitty-gritty:

• There is a mod-run storyline with the first 'phase' outlined at about two years;


• PC actions can and will influence the outcome of events;


• This game is locked and invite-only;


• App rounds are monthly;


• It has no minimum comment count for AC;


• There is an activity rewards shop.

Players can influence the outcome of events in a number of ways. In addition to giving players the chance to thread with NPCs to learn more about the game's plot and world, some events will allow game-wide votes on outcomes, while others will afford RNG opportunities for players to sign-up for an important role. Activity rewards also allow players to exchange their active participation in events for threads with NPCs and other plot tidbits or roles.

Any player who is on tentamenace or protects's Plurk friends list is already invited! Invited players who join in the first round are welcome to bring a +1, but should note that they're doing so on our interest check posted in the OOC community. Monster Interests: i just want wanda to be a hot chaos monster. i have an idea but i cannot spell the monster's name, so we're doing well here. she's going to be some kind of niez.

HORROR: tbh i love psychological horror and all the gimmicks that was in multiverse of madness. survival horror. considering what we saw in mom, wanda controlling people/things and mind control/possession/dream manipulation kind of stuff. i love ghosts, spirits, and hauntings ala haunting of bly manor kind of style. memories coming to life and being twisted. tbh going down the whole the boys route for her where she uses her powers to be possessive over those she cares about would be kind of neat, but that's more of a personal horror arc i'd love to do.

Character Considerations:

I'm really undecided because the only canon characters I could think of potentially apping here right now would either be Misty Day or Sister Mary Eunice from their respective seasons of American Horror Story. Misty would be interesting to play as she'd interact with the horror elements a lot differently than Mary Eunice, who is sort of possessed by the devil.

Alternatively I have a few different OCs that I'll be examining to see if they'd fit as well- from a rowdy immortal who can alter or observe people's dreams (nightscare) to either a teen witch who accidentally killed his best friend and brought him back to life (docmartens) or perhaps, if stars align, someone a little more designed for the dark elements of the game and a total asshole of a manipulator (darktrade) who traded a loved one for immortality and got stuck in a loop of reincarnation. The latter I'm most uncertain about but am still gently entertaining! This journal's OC isn't an impossible choice either, but I'd weigh the merit of CRAU if considering him.

Monster Interests:

Diabel or Wilk are what I'd lean toward for most of my characters' curses though it'd change depending on which character I ultimately end up leaning toward. A few already have some nasty true forms that could get examined/fit into those roles. But who doesn't love werewolves?

Horror/Kink Interests:

Horror: Psychological horror in general but also just possession/loss of self, witch craft gone wrong, back from the dead/reincarnation, cat and mouse vibes, abandoned or haunted places/areas, ghosts and haunting in general, choices made under duress and more. Fucked up nostalgia is also my thing, if you've played Amanda the Adventurer or are familiar with welcome home or even the shitty nft game that shall not be named about wandering around a toy factory.

Kink: Quite, quite open. Here's just one of my chars' kink list for an example. Pretty open to most things OOC with harder kinks or things with more impact (noncon, etc) requiring OOC confirmation and consent continually along the way to avoid any misunderstandings.

Might also consider idk someone from Mindhunter or House because I'm super fucking here for mundane canons being railroaded into some supernatural nonsense.

Monster Interests: Thinking Wilk or Diabel for Grady. Something big and horrific and furry for sure, see if anyone can actually tell when he's partially transformed.

Horror/Kink Interests:

Horror: Body horror/gore; witchcraft of all kinds; nasty curses; came back wrong tropes; slashers and serial killers; werewolves/feral animal nastiness; survival and exposure tropes; occult corruption.

Character Considerations: Frontrunners are:

Genya Safin from Shadow and Bone -- or Grishaverse, however she'll be based on show canon. Post-season two. She is an amplified Tailor, which means she has the ability to alter someone's appearance, transfer the surface qualities of one object to another (color, texture), sense heartbeats, and ease pain/confer minor healing. Her background contains SA and there will be an opt-out available.

Blight Espenson a Hunger Games fandom OC?? Question marks because he might actually make a good native OC. I'll tweak his personality as necessary but it won't be far off from these bullet points. A little more repressed angst and anger. He'll seek external rather than internal solutions AKA lock him in a basement when he's wolfy and let's never talk about it when he isn't. PB and journal might be different.

While those two are my top considerations at the moment, also on the table are Lorna Dane/Polaris (mutants) from The Gifted, Ikaris (inhuman) from MCU/The Eternals, Jessica Jones (grunge) from MCU/Netflix Marvel TV, and Cleo Cazo (vermintide) from DCEU/The Suicide Squad. Top levels or tag-ins, look for them on the TDM later this month! Potentially aged up Ylfa Snorgelsson from D20/Neverafter? Anything's popsicle.

Monster Interests: Niez suits Genya and Wilk suits Blight. I haven't narrowed them down beyond that yet. I'm interested in using my monster choices to complement and conflict with my character's personalities, respectively. Genya would (eventually) embrace and control the additional power afforded to her, while Blight would always struggle with it.

Horror/Kink Interests: In no particular order, and hardly exhaustive:

horror: nightmares, hallucinations, losing sanity rolls, body horror, gore, possession, mind control, manipulation, stalking, obsession, torture, [fill in the blank] or die, Saw style traps and scenarios, hunter v. hunted, loss of control, rape/revenge.

Any Questions: Blight's sons are pretty important to him. Could they exist as native NPC's? Only as a technicality. I would never play them beyond an occasional throwaway line as set dressing (more how pets function in games). His bio has them at eleven years old but I could bring them up to the age limit no problem. That said! I understand this can be a slippery slope so I have no expectations either way. Thank you!

Character Considerations: I've been itching to dust off some of these, so pardon the long list of possibilities. In no particular order...

Vaxildan Vessar donotgofar: An absolute bisexual disaster of a rogue-turned-revenant, potentially already somewhat monstrous. Vax can be reckless and rarely hesitates to throw himself at danger.

Caleb Widogast meinherzbrennt: A human wizard who has had a very rough time of it. His talent was noticed at a young age and he was drawn into training to be a Volstrucker, an assassin and spy. During this time he was subjected to magical experimentation and torture, and his final test broke him. Since then, he's become a master of his craft, and he's seen terrible things both human and supernatural. Bit of a firebug.

Eadwulf Grieve ungelicisus: A classmate of Caleb's, but actually made it through the program, for better or worse. Also trained to be an assassin from a relatively young age using both magic and martial force; he was also subjected to magical experimentation and torture by their mentor in order to make him more effective in his eventual job.

Percival de Rolo alignmyheart: Inventor, noble, probably definitely cursed. Percy is a product of a past tragedy and he carries that shadow no matter what. He'll always be looking to get out from under it, even when the danger of being fully possessed by it has passed. He's sharp, intelligent, and has seen and done terrible things.

Lucien Tavelle truthisvicious: Alternatively, Kingsley. Either way, a fractured psyche who has been pulled apart and smashed back together multiple times and it has not impacted him badly in any way. At all. As a tiefling, he's already got some monster looks.

The Iron Bull aban_aqun: Big guy, hits things. That's the short story, anyway. Bull is a mercenary, a spy, and generally a lot deeper than he lets on. He has madness in his past and that resulted in a lot of reckless violence, and he's been keeping that in check ever since. Depending on his canon point, it's easier or harder.

Fenris foughtforthis: Former slave, now an assassin and rebel with so many causes; his backstory includes gladitorial combat, magical experimentation, physical and likely mental/emotional abuse. His history also involves memory loss and violence on small and large scales - he was a body guard and he also fought in skirmishes in a war. He violently stops slavers whenever he can. Through the power of friendship (depending on game choices) he is less hostile than he used to be. He's got the bonus of being touch-averse due to the way the lyrium tattoos make him feel.

And because I have no self control there are a handful of OCs I'd consider:

Cade greatrack: Spent a very long time as a stag being hunted for sport, now he resides in the Summer Court and hunts those that hunted him.

Rune Tyto homeisbehind: A tiefling ranger who found himself trapped between two sides in a war. His entire character design is based around barn owls and so it'd be interesting to see what he'd look like turning monstrous.

Ro Strand moontied: Ro is a halfling grave cleric here to fulfill all those size-difference kinks and also perhaps one of the most prepared for horror elements. That won't mean he'd be fine. He's just prepared.

Monster Interests: Eadwulf would be a Wilk for sure, a loyal dog wolf; Vax might also find himself in the Wilk or Skala categories, or maybe a Niez. Caleb could end up a Wilk or Skala. Percy could fall into any monster category depending on how he gets there, though he already has one foot in the Diabel group, possibly. Lucien would find himself in the Skala group most likely, but could easily fall into Diabel. So many options.

Edward Cullen 🍎 Twilight — honestly my strongest choice though I play him from the first book/film (typically pre-Bella infatuation) for my own sanity and having him become more of a soulless monster than he already thinks himself as would be interesting to explore tbh.

Finnick Odair 🔱 The Hunger Games — he's more new for me but I've been re-watching THG lately and idk I've always liked him and mourned him. lol He's the whole charismatic one with some dark and unsettling things he's been forced into which he hides behind with the sort of public persona he wears for the Capital. Thanks, Snow.

Trevor Belmont ⚰️ Castlevania — netflix version. The idiot out of the three and, you know, who doesn't want a monster hunter to turn into one of the very monsters they hunt?? Ancestors rolling in their graves.

Monster Interests: I'm trash for vampires in case my first and last choices weren't obvious enough. closes my eyes Though anything sea-creature-ish would also be cool for Finnick. I guess I like werewolves, too. Diabel mostly has my heart though. ❤️

Horror/Kink Interests: Horror: Psychological horror is always A+ for me, especially in terms of the struggle with the whole human and monster parts of you and how what's normal for a monster is inhumane and terrifying for a human. Then the usual supernatural and paranormal sort of horror. Kinks... idek where to start, I like a lot of filth ok. 😔 But I guess breeding, daddy kink, blood play/feeding, dark/light, corruption, master/slave, rough sex, monster fucking, dirty talk, fuck or die, hate sex, fuck machines, mid-fucks, manipulation, marking... the list goes on.

Triggers and Aversions: I do not like anything or any sort of imagery with needles so I suppose medical horror/torture/kink is a no for me.

Mainly Shades from Chinese tomb raiding fandom called Grave Robbers Chronicles (aka Lost Tomb, DMBJ - think Lara Croft meeting the Mummy --the trilogy, not the remake-- with gay 'bromance'.) Shades, real name unknown, is one of the best tomb raiders in the series. Broke-ass mercenary with an eye disease/curse that makes him blind to light and yet able to see in the dark (*cough*Riddick*cough*), hence earning him his moniker because he always wears sunglasses. Your typical hell may care, trash talking troll with that secret heart of gold. Oh, he might have a little longevity problem too and is a bit over a hundred years old, but that's probably young relative to characters, right?

Runner ups are Lindsey McDonald, from Angel (Buffyverse), morally ambiguous lawyer who worked for a demon law firm from hell. And Cain possibly with CRAU from Duplicity or Noctium, the immortal first murderer from Lucifer. Yes, the irony of those two show names being put together does not escape me.

Monster Interests: Category wise it looks like a were of some sort. Definitely will be in that category, with his hidden big heart. It fits very well wit his predatory instincts too, and who doesn't like fangs and claws and maybe some fur? Or scales. Might have to think on that one.

Horror/Kink Interests:

Oh boy. Are there. Let's talk tentacles. While fighting zombies and bugs and snakes are a thing for the rest of his canon for some reason Shades gets stuck fighting tentacle creatures. So please, tentacles! Okay, that aside, kinks...

In no specific order: ABO, non/dubcon, age difference (he's 100+, there's gotta be some young'uns), bdsm, bondage, humiliation, dirty talk, coercion (where we come back to the dubcon), gags, object insertion, violence, messy sex, bloodplay (vampires?), sensory deprivation....

Character Considerations: I am torn between a couple of characters:

Callum Nova | The Atlas Paradox: Rich boy with mommy issues who also uses alcohol to cope with nearly dying. He's a Median (a strong magic user) who specializes in Empathy. His abilities range from lowering anxiety to manipulating the actions of an individual by utilizing their emotions (such as telling someone to kill themselves, literally). He's skilled at reading people's emotions to the point it's almost like reading thoughts (he can't read minds, he's not a telepath), and will definitely require heavy opt in/out.

Elcin | OC: Elcin is an alien spider (think drider from D&D, based on the mirror spider of Thailand) who specializes in medicine. He's first, and foremost, a doctor whose research mostly consists of virology and microbiology. He also has 99 problems and it's sex. He's a little addicted and open to all sorts of aliens and creatures.

Wylan van Eck | Grishaverse: Rich boy with daddy issues? Actually nearly gets killed by his own father and is the resident demo-man for the Dregs. He's skilled with chemicals and surprisingly good at surviving considering how the Barrel operates. He also has massive dyslexia and cannot read. Note: Local boy is 16 and will be coming from the books rather than the show as their stories are slightly different.

I'd also consider Nico di Angelo from the PJO series (he's sixteen in his new book), Claire Redfield from Resident Evil, and Dahlia Hawthorn from Ace Attorney.

Monster Interests: Honestly, the monsters in both Diabel and Skala interest me the most. Callum would be right up there with a Mindflyer, Elcin is already a spider but could become more like a succubi/incubi, and Wylan I'm not sure of but I'm open to ideas!

Horror/Kink Interests: I'm very into psychological horror and body horror. Which fits well into the "turning into monsters" thing. Kinks, I am open to exploring but major points for breeding, somnophilia, dubious consent, monster fucking, gun/knife play, manipulation, cock-warming, asphyxia, and so on. Ask if you're not sure, there are very few things I will not do.

Character Considerations: current considerations are:

• elektra natchios (ultraviolents) from mcu/marvel netflix, post season one of daredevil. this would be directly post-death and pre-resurrection, so she'd figure that this is just some level of hell she surely earned her place in. this means she's still an ordinary human with an extensive background in martial arts and subterfuge and very little qualms about using either to her advantage.

• johanna mason (underscoring) from the hunger games, post mockingjay. much like elektra she's got a talent for killing people, unlike elektra she used those in a game where she and eleven other children fought for their lives. she'd be coming in after the war that put that to an end and ended the capitol's rule and has been struggling with how to handle life post-war, especially with no one in her life looking out for her. she's surviving purely out of spite.

• other contenders: max guevara from dark angel (revvedup), katherine pierce from the vampire diaries (manipulativini), caroline forbes (meticulosity) from the vampire diaries, jackie taylor from yellowjackets (katharma). possibly other marvels? we'll see how things shake out.

Monster Interests: sirens for elektra, something woods based for johanna (maybe a type of nymph?)
Horror/Kink Interests:

Pretty good at the illusion of intimacy, awful at actual intimacy, and tends to weigh and value people by whether they can be valuable to him.

Option 2) Camille, another TTRPG oc but this time from World of Darkness / Vampire: The Masquerade. A vampire who operates out of a legal bordello as a cover. Why go hunting when the food will come to you? He's kind like a D&D bard meme on crack as his vampiric powers are meant for seduction and control. He also has a (literal) weakness for fine art.

Monster Interests: Both Moonlight and Camille will likely be diabel. Camille is already a vampire so I'm looking forward to playing with that, but I'm leaning more towards incubus for Moonlight.
Horror/Kink Interests:

Horror: cosmic horror and cults are both fave, I tend to lean towards psychological horror a lot. Moonlight is lowkey terrified of a condition called cyberpsychosis, in which the afflicted loses control of themselves and goes into a rage usually until they're mowed down, so playing into the fear of that would be chef's kiss.

Kinks: Camille offers some juicy kinks for those into it: VtM admittedly has some uhhh questionable mechanics but a vampire's "kiss" is by default pleasurable to the point of potentially being addicting. Other things include bloodplay (obviously), marking/claiming, magic, dubcon/coercion (this is built into Camille's powers via canon but I obviously won't force that on anyone, happy to scale it to as much or as little as players are into). Wei Wuxian from "The Untamed" would be a modern AU CRAU from Penance. He is originally from a game where he got flashes of a past life in his dreams. He gained his abilities from his previous life as well. This life would be his canon from the show so he is well aware of everything that happened to him in that other life and also has gained the experience of traveling new worlds thanks to being in Hell for over two years.
The other would be Wei Wuxian from "Mo Dao Zu Shi" with CRAU from Noctium. This one is more canon based being high energy and friendly cultivator who uses a version of cultivation that no one on his world really supports.

I also have Xue Yang or Xiao Xingchen from The Untamed.

Monster Interests: There is basically canon art of him as a kitsune/nogitsune and it fits with his personality. So some sort of fox type monster is the route I'd likely go which will likely place him in the Wilk category.

Monster Interests: The obvious choices for Dinah would be harpy or siren, I think. I like the idea of a harpy: punishing wrongdoers for their mistakes fits in well with her vigilante actions at the end of the film.

Character Considerations: i'm looking at bringing jang hanseok, the psychopathic 30-year-old CEO of babel group, a pharmaceutical and chemical corporation known for orchestrating killings, bribes, etc. he has a killcount that started with four murders when he was sixteen, and he was subsequently sent off to the US to study at stanford and stay out of sight as part of an agreement with the prosecution. three years ago he killed his father and returned to korea, where he first used his half-brother as a puppet CEO before coming to the fore himself.

hanseok is calculating and deceptive, able to mask for prolonged periods of time with very few slips, and is charismatic and friendly when he wants to be. his anger is violent and murderous; he enjoys killing and harming others. in general his behaviors and moods are extreme: he constantly engages in reckless behaviors to make himself feel; when he's happy, he's overjoyed; when he's unhappy, he shouts and destroys things and hurts the people in his immediate periphery.

interestingly, he does seem able to form some attachments, though he tends to look at the people he likes—with the exception of his mother—as possessions. definitely interested in exploring more of that angle and elaborating upon canon's hints here and there in a rp setting.
Monster Interests: I'm going to have Hanseok's monster form be non-corporeal, an evil spirit that assumes the visible form of a wispy shadow or void in the approximate shape of a coyote, albeit closer to the size of a great dane. Its glowing red eyes are the only source of light it emits; the rest of its body absorbs all light in the same way a person's pupil does. It embodies an innate evil, malice, and bloodlust, and can never be satisfied by any amount of violence or any number of kills, forever sentenced to walk the earth trying to obtain the one thing that will make it feel. Because the spirit has no true body and only a lack of, there is no way to physically attack or defeat it - it can only be warded off with magic or temporarily sated by offering up a human heart. I'm thinking maybe also a talisman made with the hair of someone Hanseok himself genuinely cares about might ward it off? The spirit can possess the bodies of animals and people, especially those prone to greed, callousness, or anhedonia, and use them to kill - while allowing the possessed to feel the momentary euphoria Hanseok himself feels when he makes a kill - but it does not have to, and can theoretically exist indefinitely outside of a body. That's all I've got so far idk

Based on the function of the Hoard per your description and some further research, the interdimensional nature of the power unfortunately will not fit with our game setting's lore. As a result, the power would be fully limited, and Sweeney would not be able to have access to his Hoard in-game. It would be fair to speculate that the Hoard isn't necessarily gone, just not something he can reach. He therefore wouldn't have access to his Coin in-game either, unless it was approved as an item to purchase via the Minstrel as an activity reward (which would be evaluated at the time of submission).

An OC named Nadir! He's a kitsune, and in his world he works as a traveling hero with his sister and best friend.
